Andhra Pradesh Tourism Development Corporation (APTDC), in association with the Embassy of India, Beijing, organized an Andhra Pradesh Tourism Road Show on 20 March, 2013 at the Auditorium of the Indian Embassy in Beijing. The event was attended by more than sixty representatives of Chinese tourism industry as well as local press. Deputy Chief of Mission Dr. B. Bala Bhaskar made the opening remarks at the Road Show, wherein he highlighted the enormous tourism potential of the state of Andhra Pradesh. He also encouraged the stakeholders from the tourism industries of the two countries to take advantage of the synergy between their respective tourism markets. A short film on the tourist attractions in the state of Andhra Pradesh was also shown at the event, which was followed by a detailed presentation on Andhra Pradesh Tourism made by Mr. Sumeet Singh, Executive Director(Tourism), APTDC. Another highlight of the programme was Kuchipudi dance (traditional dance form from the state of Andhra Pradesh) performance made by dancers from the state. In her concluding remarks, Counsellor (Economic) Ms Sumita Dawra summed up the rich and diverse tourist attractions of the state of Andhra Pradesh and urged Chinese tourists to visit the state. The event was followed by interaction over Indian tea and snacks.
