TheEmbassy of India, in collaboration with the Henan Provincial Government,organized an India-China Trade, Investment and Economic Cooperation Seminar inZhengzhou on November 04, 2016.This seminar was organized in continuation ofthe 3rd Meeting of the India-China Joint Working Group on Industrial Parks and'Invest in India Seminar' organized in Beijing.


Theseminar received an overwhelming response with more than 300 Chinese investorsand enterprises attending. This seminar came close on the heels of another suchseminar organized by Embassy of India to promote Vibrant Gujarat GlobalInvestors Summit less than a month ago. The excellent response to these eventsis reflective of the growing interest among Chinese enterprises to invest inIndia.


Themain speakers at the Invest India seminar were Mrs. Ravneet Kaur, JointSecretary, Department of Industrial Policy and Promotion and Mr. Alkesh KumarSharma, CEO, Delhi-Mumbai Industrial Corridor Corp. Mrs Ravneet Kaurhighlighted the tremendous opportunities in India for Chinese investors andinvited Chinese enterprises to make in India.


Adetailed presentation on 'Make in India' was made by Department of IndustrialPolicy Promotion. Presentations were also made on the 'Delhi Mumbai IndustrialCorridor' , and 'Investment Opportunities in the States of Maharashtra andGujarat'.


ThreeChinese companies including Henan Senyuan Group,Henan Tianrui Group, and ChinaRailway Engineering Equipment Group also made detailed presentations andexpressed strong interest in investing in India.


Thesewere followed by a lively Q&A session with Chinese enterprises askingspecific questions on areas of interest for investment.


Thiswas Embassy of India's maiden Make in India event in the province of Henanwhich lies in the Chinese heartland and ranks 5th in terms of provincial GDP.The province has a well developed industrial base with strength in electronicinformation, automobile and equipment manufacturing, modern logistics,agriculture based industries and cultural and creative tourism.
