2nd India-China Think Tanks Forum

A delegation led by Director-General, Indian Council of World Affairs (ICWA) Ambassador Nalin Surie is in China to participate in the 2nd India-China Think-Tanks Forum (22-27 June 2017), organized by the ICWA and Chinese Academy of Social Sciences (CASS). The delegation consists of distinguished Indian scholars and experts on regional, economic, and strategic issues from 11 institutions in India.

The Forum is a bilateral platform established by a Memorandum of Understanding concluded between Ministry of External Affairs, India and Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, during the visit of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi to China in May 2015. This year's Forum follows the First India-China Think-Tanks Forum, which was held in New Delhi on 9-10 December 2016.

The Forum will enable in-depth discussions among Indian and Chinese scholars on a range of issues including strategic communication, bilateral trade and investment cooperation, science and technology and people-to-people exchanges. Following the Forum in Beijing, the delegation will proceed to Guangzhou and Shenzhen for additional exchanges with think-tanks there and site-visits.
